(22,194 posts)I lived down the road from King's Canyon and Sequoia National Parks when I lived in CA. Also visited Yosemite for a week in the winter, which was fairly spectacular. Our hotel room had a roaring river that went right underneath our balcony.
Santa Fe National Forest. Stayed at bed/breakfast rustic cabin that also featured trail rides up into the mountains.
Smokey Mountain National Park, especially early morning before the mists burn off (I have a thing for mountains).
Ottawa, Canada when massive amounts of tulips are blooming in the spring
Niagra Falls, that we stopped at for a night on the way back from Ottawa
Dale Hollow Lake in southern KY. Rented a really nice log cabin, and went fishing.
Bernheim Forest outside Clermont, KY, arboretum and research forest, lakes, gorgeous.
