29. Have you ever read about the Rat Park experiment?

2 groups of rats. Both had access to a regular water bottle and one that was laced with cocaine, but their living environments were different. One group lived in an essentially barren environment while the other environment was Rat Park - toys, exercise wheels, little boxes for privacy if they wanted it. The Rat Park rats could drink the cocaine water if they wanted, but they had no desire. They got their good feelings from their environments. The rats in the barren environment would drink the cocaine water until they died. It was their only source of enjoyment.

Imagine if we took the money we spend on the WAR ON DRUGS and private prisons and used it to provide rehab for drug users and to improve the communities where drug use was prevalent.
