114. Desperate for kindred Dems after the 2010 shellacking, I found DU. Best site for my political soul.

My first months of lurking gave me so much daily relief, so many smiles. I learned I was among well read, smart, fiery, argumentative people whose belief in and commitment to American and Western ideals coexist in a big tent Democratic Party.

I can't emphasize how much I've learned here about party makeup, local and national issues, campaigning processes, American civics, modern political history, Democratic Party history, worldwide political systems, economics.

DU commits to revealing the talent, brains, heart and humanity of the Democratic Party and Americans. Its wide ranging discussion groups shine with expertise every single day.

DU helps me reference my claims in discussions.

DU helps me stay up-to-the-minute informed and articulate with political opponents on the nets or in real life interactions. DU has helped me change minds.
