The call that sounds like 'help, help me' caused all 3 of us some panic at first because our house was 5 or 6 doors down from an elementary school, lol! The peacocks lived right next to the school.
I like the low call that sounds like blowing on an empty bottle. It makes me think of wind in reeds and the pitch is very soothing.

Me too ... but I grew up around 'em ... Siamese cats 'talking' is the sound of 'home' :)

If your cat is eating a lot and losing weight, check the thyroid. Common problem among older cats.
