a fox. Got her when the kids were all young. A neighbor wanted to dump her, and I offered to take her to the pound. Kept her overnight, and the kids fell in love with her. Next day, I was determined to take her to the pound, and set off with 3 crying kids and the dog. The pound was closed that day! I was explaining (as a single mother) that having a dog is expensive, she would have to be spayed. My older son said "Mom, you can have my allowance to buy a spade" All the crying stopped while they waited for the offer to be considered. Needless to say, we kept her. Great dog, very well behaved. Loving and protective, that was Jody. Had her for 15 years.
