I am really sorry to read this.

I know you may be tempted, but don't burn any bridges!

I suspect they'll quickly discover how poorly the person with no experience will work out, and they'll want you.

No guarantees, of course.

Would you want to go to work for an organization that would show such favoritism? I know it's hard, believe me.
