(21,925 posts)but other than that I don't recall seeing any well-know Hollywood celebrities in completely random settings despite living in southern California for over 40 years. I did meet blues musician BB King in a music store in Oakland in 1970 and he remembered meeting me backstage at his concert in Paris the year before. In the 1980s, after I graduated from film school and went to work for Dino DeLaurentiis (actually his son-in-law who was a producer in Dino's studio DEG) I met quite a few like Schwarzenegger, Jerry Lewis, Jean Claude van Dame, David Lynch, Sam Raimi and many others. They were just like regular people (although on the occasion when I saw him Jerry Lewis acted weird as though he thought it was expected). But those were people I met as part of my very modest unimportant job as a lowly assistant to Dino's son-in-law. I could never afford to frequent places where these guys would probably hang out in order to regularly see them on a random basis. From what I've heard of him, Robert Duvall doesn't go for the fancy lifestyle of other Hollywood stars.
