Recently, I’ve learned something about owls, too. I can rather reliably go out at civil twilight (almanac on wunderground) and hear or maybe see great horned owls hooting up in the barren treetops.

They pitch forward with their full body to make the hoot! So much squeee when I first saw that motion - same deal seeing the cutie up there popping a squat.

Today, I’ll go look for them at 6:44pm CT.
