7. There are apps that will let you know when the ISS is goign to be visible

From your location. You load it on your phone, let it track your location and it will alert you before the ISS comes over your area.

The one my sister uses tells you where it will come from and where it will leave your view - say it tells you the ISS wil come from the NNW and pass to the SSE.

I'm not sure which one she uses, there are a lot of them. I just loaded ISS Detector on my Samsung phone - it was the top rated one. It will be two days before I can test it - that's the next time the ISS will go over my location, according to the the app.
