I did a little legwork. According to the Wiki page for the show "77 Sunset Strip," their offices were in a stylish building on the south side of Sunset Boulevard, between La Cienega Boulevard and Alta Loma Road. Both those roads exist IRL. Between them is the 8500 block of Sunset Boulevard. There is a very stylish building on the south side of that block; it is currently a hotel.
Also, the lowest address you could possibly have on Sunset is 4000.
Given that, "77 Sunset Strip" sounds much better than "8516 Sunset Strip."
