Shrimp: be sure to read the label [View all]

Months ago, my daughter brought me a bag of frozen jumbo shrimp. I thought I would make a shrimp cocktail with Chinese chili sauce. It was awful! The shrimp was terrible. I didn't tell her, just put the bag in the freezer, and planned to toss it.

My daughter brought me another bag of shrimp the other day. I thanked her and didn't tell her how bad the last bag was, so bad that I might never eat shrimp again! I took the old bag out of the freezer and put it in the fridge overnight, figuring I would try it again, hated to waste it. I got the bag out yesterday and emptied the shrimp into a colendar. As I was throwing the bag away, I noticed that the contents were labelled: Gulf Jumbo RAW Shrimp. I missed that key word back when I tried using it as shrimp cocktail, and used it right out of the bag :/ I made shrimp scampi yesterday, actually cooking the shrimp. It tasted so much better! I am still laughing ay my error, but trying to think if I had any symptoms from ingesting raw shrimp.
