I used to cook for around 20 people but the kids friends have moved on and their parents and my relatives are all gone. There were to be 4 of us but now it is just 3. I have cooked everything I can early so I can get my chores done and get a meal on the table in the afternoon. China and crystal but not silver. Still at 2:00 even though we are all here together already. A 20 pound turkey. Stuffing made from 6 loaves of homemade baked bread, we will be eating this forever and I have the same set up for Christmas dinner. Nuts, just nuts. I do love the leftovers though. I too have bags ready to store so I will be able to do my concerts and work and not worry about them not eating well.

I refuse to cut back but I am afraid I am really the only person who actually cares about this and I will never be able to give it all up. I really miss having a room full of people to feed.

Actually, I will be 67 in a few weeks. By the time my Mother was my age, oh wait she died in her early 60's, by the time she was 52 I was doing it all. I had hoped that I would have had relief by this time but not because everyone was gone!

Happy Thanksgiving to all. The meaning of the holiday has changed since I was a little one. I am grateful for much.
