I second the suggestion by another poster about looking at homeless shelters. Covid aside, I know that this is a tough step for people to take. (I have volunteered with a local shelter for 6 years and I've talked to people about the emotional barrier to taking this step.)
Add in the Covid consideration, and I can understand the reluctance to taking this route.
That said, I would assume that shelters throughout Texas are bursting, and you've probably looked into this anyway. In any case, here's the number in Van Zandt Country.
