3. We had no sex education books when I was a kid.

At least I couldn't find any in the public library. And there was a conspiracy of silence about sex and the mechanics of it. I knew nothing about boys or male anatomy as a female. No brothers.

The dictionary has dirty words in it now. It didn't in the 1960s.
