How to pick up dead spider without looking at it [View all]

UPDATE: THE DEED IS DONE!!

Went with the vacuum and long pole attachment method. I didn’t see the body when I dumped the canister which is both a positive and a negative. Positive because I didn’t see it, negative because what if it’s still in the hose?? Yikes! But I don’t even care because outta sight, outta mind. Yay!

Thank you for the ideas and support!

This sucker is freakin huge. Like, 3/4 the size of a tarantula.

It was behind the door when I got home the other night. I womanfully sprayed it from a safe distance (and while ducking in front of the dryer for cover) but it was already dead. Thank Gawd. The carcass fell on the floor... where it has now been sitting for three days.

I am severely arachnophobic. It’s housework day and the spider needs to be picked up.

The lip on the door is too high to sweep it outside.

The broom and dustpan is a no-go. I already tried and chickened out- I’d have to look at it too much to ensure accuracy.

Suck it up with the vacuum and dump the canister? That idea sounds the best but it’s freaking me out. The canister is clear.

Arg!!

Any other ideas?

My anxiety level is sky high right now and I’m tempted to leave it there till it disintegrates. It’s in the corner behind the carport door so I can keep averting my eyes when I use that door.

This is so stupid. I know it’s stupid. I feel helpless.
