4. We had a Golden Retriever that was never comfortable with stairs.

We had these open oak stairs going upstairs at kind of a steep pitch and on the other side were stairs going down into the basement. When he was a pup we heard him yelp and found him down below on the stairs. We guessed that he tried to climb up the stairs and fell through and land below on the other staircase. The vet found some cracked ribs. So if it was that event or not he was never really comfortable with stairs after that. He ended being a really large athletic dog. I would do a 5 mile jog with him 4 or 5 days a week. But he did not like stairs .
