No music, other than what happens in the radio spectrum briefly.

Not to mention: Space Nazis!

The "music" when Ellie is walking to the globe over the second machine isn't music. It's the sound of the machine as it runs. I don't know what the folly artists used to make it, but they did an excellent job. Might not be as "tranquil" for everyone as it is form me. I love the sounds the "Big Machine" makes when Morbius is showing the captain and doctor around in "Forbidden Planet". Most people would call that noise

You might netflix the DVD and make a copy, versus buying a new one. Technically not bootlegging, since you do own the original box
