But here's the thing that I believe differentiates the Democrats from the Republicans.
A Republican does not care at all about governing. They merely want to win elections so they can enforce policies that transfer more and more money from the public treasury into private pockets. So their power strategy is to obstruct everything, then sit back and blame the Democrats and so win elections. The Tea Party, well-funded by the Koch brothers, did a brilliant job of taking over the local and state Republican party apparatus.
A Democrat will get elected and actually try and govern us. They will even try, like Biden, to reach across the aisle to get things done.
Democrats are about policy. Republicans about power.
Ah, but you know this already - you have been drawn to the light side of the Force. The side where we hold the interests of the people over profits, and the welfare of the republic over power.
