In sealing up all the holes. (Critter Control?) We had squirrels in our attic years ago. Most of the squirrels will leave during the day and they can close entry points. If you can hear them and they’re loud, it’s squirrels. My squirrels had quite the time up there chasing each other back and forth. Rats and mice are much quieter.
