It happened by accident. I was working as a Medical Assistant in order to earn clinical hours towards applying to Physician Assistant School.

My supervisor told me one morning to go work at our homeless clinic, which I didn’t want to, not knowing anything about homeless people.

It only took that one day; it set me on fire to want to provide medical care for the homeless. So I made it my focus in school, and then became the medical provider at the very same clinic once I graduated.

It’s stressful, but very fulfilling.
