3. I believe those that have reacted this way aren't really in the fanbase

They're merely loudmouths who claim to be fans to stoke controversy and stir 💩. These are the same mouth breathers who were all outdone over Rey having force skills that came to her naturally and they screamed "OMG she's such a Mary Jane and this is bullshit"...totally missing the implication that "the force" is within all of us, which the newest trilogy did a great job of highlighting IMO. All the while overlooking the fact that Luke had a few days with OBW, a few weeks with Yoda, and somehow "He's a Jedi"!!

As for "Obi-Wan", I've thoroughly enjoyed it, thus far. I think it does an incredible job of showing a true human reaction to ultimate failure that OBK must have felt after losing Anikan to the dark side. He turned himself off to the force and became like anyone else, in order to look out for the young Luke. It makes sense in the context of the original story and to me it gives gravity to the decision of Luke to react likewise in the newest trilogy, yet another thing these so called fanboys were outraged about. "Oh Luke would never have done that, Luke was the greatest Jedi"....a bunch of toxic masculinity fueled nonsense.
