My father had zero skills at fixing stuff, and so things simply never got taken care of. I married a man whose father thought that duct tape was the cure for everything. Luckily my husband realized his father was totally incompetent at fixing things. So we hired out everything.

Which is what I do today. I have a yard guy. I have my home cleaned by Merry Maids. It's not only worth it to me, but it employs people who need jobs.
