10. Those poor little girls

I have watched Toddlers and Tiaras and all I see are these shrill sad mothers trying to live through their children. THe girls aren't allowed to play, they have their hair dyed, get spray tanned and endure hours of rehearsal. Then the pageant's they absolutely LOVE to do seem to completely exhaust them. And the judges are very harsh. I often wonder if social services ever gets involved with these people.

When my oldest was about 6 months old (she's 17 now) I was walking through a mall and past some kind of pageant modeling thing. Now my little one was one knock out of a baby. So this bubble headed bleach blond stops me as I am walking by and said "What a beautiful Bay-bee (southern accent) you should start her in pageant's now and she can make scholarship money." I just said no and walked away. But there was a line like you wouldn't believe of mothers with little girls and most didn't want to be there!
