4. Cats' curiosity leads to interesting napping spots

Aug 2012

Our neighbor's young cat discovered that she could come in our outside back door to the laundry room, go down the basement stairs, jump onto the water heater, and climb up into a space in the wall between built-in cabinets. Sometimes we hear her rustle around in there on rainy winter, or hot summer days.
She learned that she can come up the stairs at night after our dog comes in (dog likes to chase her), and I'll let her out to go home before I close the back door.
The next time I see her people I'm going to ask if their young English bull terrier is friendly with the cat...wondering if she's hanging out here to avoid him.
