In the movie he was played by Fred Williamson, and in the series by Timothy Brown.
Here's where it gets interesting: In the novel Spearchucker played football for the Philadelphia Eagles and in the movie he played for the San Francisco 49ers. In real life, Fred Williamson played for the 49ers and Timothy Brown played for the Eagles.
