8. What a great show

I grew up in Issaquah, WA in the 80s, about 15 miles from where the exteriors were shot, and I often went hiking or canoeing in the area. We moved to the East Coast when I started high school in '88, and it just blew my mind at the time to see a huge hit show taking place in my old stomping grounds.

It may have descended into silly nonsense from time to time, but at it's best, it was challenging, fascinating, and packed an emotional punch like nothing else.

On rewatches, I'm still surprised at how sickeningly brutal the big reveal in "Lonely Souls" is, especially for network TV in the early 90s. There's been more gory and violent scenes on TV for sure, but not much has had the same level of visceral horror.
