No way are they getting free.
I can never get mine "tight" enough - the cat always manages to get a paw (claw!) free and then I have the double whammy of kitty bite AND scratches.

cats are notorious for UTIs, and a drop of blood is very possible. Keep an eye on them. n/t

If the cat is a female, no. Even after being fixed, they still drop blood once in a while.

I use a beach towel, but it's thin, so easy to wrap. The trick is to get the first edge tucked in
