(72,192 posts)48. Even movies and TV can rarely replicate those conditions.
"Dark" in a lot of TV shows and movies is just the same level of light, only blue. Either that, or they're portraying a "dark" night somewhere, but there always seems to be a bright-white floodlight just off camera in defiance of anything that appears in nature, so the audience can see the action. And I get that. Pitch black screens are not why people are watching. But it's awfully misleading as to what a dark, moonless night is actually like.
