Funny story.
I have a right wing nut of an uncle that decided to teach a math lesson on social media, something about a cashier not being able to count change back from $100.
Two weeks later, he tells another person, "not to waist their time with so and so."
I start laughing about the hypocrisy about the incorrect spelling vs. the previous math lesson where he tried to shame a cashier.
I never said word about it. To this day, the words waist and waste actually make me laugh out loud.
