PS: When I felt I was not getting enough Halloween joy, I instituted an annual pumpkin carving party for my nieces and nephews. We eat junk food and carve.

I started when they were really little. Now they range in age from 18 to 40 and they still get anxious and call me if I haven't scheduled it by Oct 1 to make sure they won't miss it. It's one of my favorite things.
