I saw the very first episode at about 7yo and wasnt allowed to watch the second or subsequent episodes for several years. The Dalek death rays in the 60s were terrifying.
I had nightmares for a week. In fact 60 years later such nightmares as I still experience usually consist of some form of death ray.
