(60,922 posts)145. Colonel William Tavington in "The Patriot"
I wasn't a huge fan of the film, but what a fabulously evil villain!
Also Colonel Quarritch in Avatar and Colonel Nathan Jessup in "A Few Good Men."
Colonel seems to be the villains' rank! I wonder what evil deeds Harlan Sanders had hidden in his closet. Of course, he wasn't really a colonel, so he gets a pass. He did have a sense of humor, though. One time, for some reason I forget, he was called to testify before some Congressional Committee. I don't remember the exact dialogue, but one of the first questions posed to him by a Congressman was "You call yourself Colonel Sanders. Are you indeed a Colonel, Mr. Sanders?" He responded with, "that sign in front of you says you are the Honorable so-and-so. Are you indeed honorable, sir?"

Not my "favorite", but Deliverance had two of the most terrifying villains in movie history.
