(27,413 posts)You are probably in for a LONG road to recovery! I hope you heal well! Please keep us posted on your progress!
Four years ago, I fell off the back of a truck at work, and broke two lower-leg bones--got a metal rod in each bone. After six months in a boot, and almost three years of therapy, it didn't heal properly, and I will have a limp for the rest of my life, probably. I hope I am not discouraging you by telling you this, and I hope you have a much better result. Mine didn't go well. OTOH, Alex Smith QB for Washington Redskins (now Commanders) had a double compound tib-fib fracture, got life-threatening infections from it, but a year and a half later, was back playing pro football. (Of course, he got a lot better (and more intensive) therapy than I could've afforded.
I hope you have a good support network of family and friends--that will be vital to a good recovery. Best of luck to you!
