Several large breaks plus spiral breaks down to the knee. Large rod from hip down with 16 "sheet metal" screws holding everything together. No weight at all on that leg for nine months. Crutches only. Took another six months to rehab to walk fairly normal. Mostly ok now.
Good luck with your recovery. Femurs are slow to heal, but the will. Wishing you the patience to deal with this. Remember that, without that plate, you would be like the cartoons of the patient in traction with the weights hanging off the bed.
