(7,815 posts)not long before the first atom bomb. So I've always felt like a boomer- I grew up and went to school with boomers - though I don't quite qualify.
I worked in an art and framing gallery 1991-1999, and it waa during that decade that Kincade became populer, stared overproducing, and started to fall. I never met him - I did meet some ot the artists we carried because we would have shows/receprions for them, but not for him, while I worked there. But we heard things - such as that the Publisher he was on contract to was pushing him past his limit and that he could barely function any more without alcohol. He died in 2012 at only 54. I felt so sorry for him (and I don't care for the paintings either, though in my case it's more because there are too many of them and I'm oversaturated than because of the work itself.) He did have talent, but he got terrible advice In a way I feel his publishing agent killed, first his talent, and then him. I am so sorry for him (and what could have been.)
