(4,306 posts)they have established relationships with and some of the huge profit makes it's way back to Rolex.
We contacted a jewlery store in west L.A. that has been around for over 100 years. My husband had purchased a Rolex from them over 20 years ago, before Rolex's were so hard to get.
The sales person we worked with asked us what model we wanted, what were our preferred options and to rank them from must have to it's OK if you can't find a watch with that option. He said he'd work his 'network' and get back to us in a week with what he could find.
He was able to find every combination we wanted, brand new, with box and all papers and warranties, etc.
The prices were about double retail give or take plus tax.
Once I decided which one I wanted, he procured it in a few days and then I went there and purchased it from him.
My watch was brand new, sold about a year earlier at an authorized Rolex dealer in South America. The watch still had all the protective coating on it from the factory which our sales person removed in front of me. I have the original box, and all paperwork.
It's a racket, but I will say I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Rolex!
