(6,581 posts)Yes, actually, I have been exchanging all of these notes with the various doctors, but they're all new to me in the last month except my PCP who I have seen on and off for about 10 years. I will definitely send her the big "summary" on a regular basis.
Honestly, I have cried enough to last me a decade in the past 2 months, and I have had some good laughs, too, because humor is very important and helps me to get through. Honestly, despite the periods of intense anguish, I have had about as good a time with a mental breakdown as is possible. Sounds weird, but I mean it, my sense of humor is still there, in fact, the meds and the diminished inhibitions make a lot of things seem really, really funny.
And, also, I always remembered a line from M*A*S*H from the time I was about 6 or 7 years old. Hawkeye Pierce was trying to explain why he was such a cut-up in such a serious place and time. He said "You can choose to laugh, or you can choose to cry. I choose to laugh." And that is my choice to the best of my ability, too. I've cried enough.
