(39,551 posts)There's a dearth of direct info on Frank Weber. He was very successful in the Jazz and Folk circuits, but he packed it in when the the rock scene exploded. Cocktail napkin contract made him a quarter partner in the Kingston Trio and made a boatload, plus he made a ton of money importing pot.
Frank Weber continued to be a mover and shaker, and the Trident was the clearing house. The big scandal was Frank getting busted for importing six hundred pound of Mexican pot. He beat the rap.
Bill Graham did a boatload of business at the Trident; a table was always held for him.
Robin Williams worked there as a busboy in the early seventies
Davis Crosby made the Trident his personal watering hole.
The modern Tequila sunrise was invented by Trident bartenders and Rolling Stones fell in love with it, leading to their 1972 "Cocaine and Tequila Sunrise tour"
