In reply to the discussion: Card Players - Favorite Card Games [View all]driver8
(12,710 posts)3. Hearts, Spades, Oh Hell...
I met a guy from work who is a HUGE card player -- and he and all his college buddies get together every year for a tournament called "Mr. Card." I am now a particpant, and the tournament is this weekend. It is basically an excuse to get together, drink a lot of beer, play cards, and act like we are still in college.
The games we play are Hearts, Spades, OH Hell and sometimes cribbage. After the official card playing we play poker (Omaha, Texas hold em) and a game called "Pepito" which is basically Pai Gow with an extra five card hand.
The winner of our tournament is crowned "Mr. Card" and must plan the next event. Some of the guys have lost on purpose so they would not have to plan it!!

Magic: The Gathering. But I have to admit that "Go Fish" and "Uno" rank up there too.
