break the egg into the skillet, and after the whites have begun to turn opaque, take a knife or fork and drag it around in the part next to the yolk that is still clear. this allows that part of the egg white to drain down to the pan and cook. I always flip mine over, but you can get rid of that thick part of the white.
Another thing I have seen is to spoon the frying fat over the top of the egg. This will cook that part of the white.
