---Not a sales tax. Not sure where else to put this. But I found it interesting. [View all]

About a month ago, I bought a hat. You've seen it on internet click bait thingies. Anyway, the hat comes and I like it. So yesterday, I ordered four more for the grandkids.

The invoice appeared in gmail. This time, I took the time to read it. It included $4 for "tax." New Jersey does not charge sales tax on items of clothing. So I emailed them, asking for a refund based on N.J. sales tax regulations.

This morning, came their reply. "$4 is not a sales tax but a tariff."

Thanks to His Royal Orangeness.

How many other purchases have an unlabeled tariff tax on them?
