these new high compression motors are extremely hard to pull start. I found if you tug gently on the rope once or twice before pulling, it releases the pressure and makes it easier to pull hard to start.

I have two battery saws too. Pole saw, and a small one hand saw. They have really improved these battery saws, and are quite powerful. I used to split wood with a heavy monster maul, and I contribute that to my bad back. 30 years ago or more, I bought a used 5 hp log splitter. I'm on my second engine, but what a back saver it's been.
