(6,012 posts)18. I read that you can cut the stem end and peel all the leaves off
and quickly sauté them, so I bought some nice fresh Brussels sprouts at the farmers market. Ye Gads- it would have taken an hour to separate all the leaves so instead I cut them in half, steamed them in a medium frying pan with a little water for 3-4 minutes then poured off the water and added a little butter and olive oil and sautéed them just until they were tender al denté- YUM!
A friend said adding splash of balsamic vinegar is good- I'll try that next time.

They were better back when they were dirt cheap. Nowadays the lil critters are costly.
