My user name is based on the forum site where I originally found references to DU and on the nickname of one of my horses - and that nickname is based on the name of the computer in Quantum Leap.

I started lurking at DU after the 2004 campaign, registered but then lost the password to that ID and couldn't get it sent to me because I had changed email. So this ID dates from 2008.

I have lived in Florida all my life and while I hate what the politics have become, I love where I live and would not leave for anything. I own a 60 acre farm outside Tallahassee, Florida. I used to board and raise horses, and still have some, but cannot physically do the work to take care of the farm or the horses.

Now I spend my time doing genealogy, needlework, reading DU, and reading science fiction and mysteries. Oh, and doing physical therapy to either delay knee replacement or build up my muscles to be ready for knee replacement.

I've been a registered Democrat all my life - back when I first registered, Florida did not have Republican primaries, so just about everybody was Democratic in order to be able to decide local races. I first got involved in politics when I volunteered for the Kerry campaign. Then I did it again for the Obama campaign and ended up being a team leader against my will. They want me to come back and work this time, but I simply cannot physically do it again.

As of this coming July hubby and I will have been married 35 years. I'll turn 60 the same day. I have one (insane) cat and five horses (soon will be seven!).
