9. I watched the first two episodes on Hulu, but a few things bothered me, aside from

the bad acting and the overly well-groomed and white toothed actors.

1. The really interesting story would have been how the country adjusted to the lack of electricity. Note that they are within walking distance of Chicago. This means that they have a real winter. How did they avoid freezing to death? What did they eat? In one scene, a man comes to his front door with a cup of coffee. Have they all installed wood stoves?

2. The show features one of the hallmarks of intellectually bankrupt writing: a fight every few minutes, one that the "good guys" always win, with the rest of the story leading up to yet another fight. Yawn.

3. Note the right-wing subtext: a racially mixed man is head of a dictatorial government and is determined to confiscate GUNS.
