(6,581 posts)44. One thing my mother said right away was the relief from constant pain.
While she had surgical pain from the incisions and the physical therapy, she said that there was an immediate relief from the 24/7 pain from the severely damaged arthritic knees.
Honestly, a few months after it's over, you'll be so glad you did it.

Better a knee now than worse if you were to not have it replaced and take a fall....

my MIL went thru it oct, maybe sept, but think oct. we spent 4 days in new orleans and she did well
