17. I think the iProducting of future technology is a problem throughout Hollywood.

Avatar overdid it, and Prometheus made the Nostromo look like steam-era space-faring tech. It's probably the fault of people wanting high tech to be more visible than useful.

Thankfully, the only version of Abrams Star Trek I watched was a downloaded bootleg that I promptly deleted once I'd bothered to watch that mess. It's really too bad that his modus operandi seems to be "Let's kill off as many people as we can, and in the most imaginative and edgy ways possible!" There was no good reason to destroy Vulcan, and the main story was a rather simplistic one about revenge. The idiotic idea of a supernova destroying the galaxy made me cringe. Sure, Star Trek wasn't known for getting science right all the time, but at least it tried! Abrams didn't seem to think that was necessary.

And so, I don't think it will be necessary for me to watch whatever he produces
