21. When I was in high school

I wanted to do a paper for my psychology class on the differences between children based on birth order. My mother found out and was convinced that I was having sex (I wasn't) and that I thought I was pregnant (hardly!). As much as I tried to convince her otherwise, she remained firm in that belief. She still thought so and brought it up when I was in my late 50's. The real reason I wanted to research that particular subject? I wanted to see if I could figure out why my mother was so much harder on me (the first-born) than on my brother or sister who were younger. My conclusion: she was bat-shit crazy and remained so the remainder of her life.
