(191 posts)I used to post all the time and then got disillusioned for a while (I know this has happened to some of you). I have been lurking for some time and decided to reply to LynneSin's thread.
I was born in Kansas and now reside in Sugar Land, Texas. I am an attorney and have my own solo practice, focusing on family law and elder law. I am planning to do some pro bono work in the near future.
I am married and have 3 cats: Montana, aged 16 1/2; Morrissey, aged 7 1/2; and Sunflower, aged 4 1/2. (All ages approximate.) My husband is a psychiatrist and does schizophrenia research. We have no kids; our cats are our babies. I have one older sister and one older brother, who still lives in Kansas.
I became a vegetarian in April 2010, but am considering returning to eating meat occasionally, as I get practically no protein and I don't like tofu, lentils, etc. This is a difficult decision, as I love animals.
I am beyond thrilled that my sister (you know her as Bullwinkle925) has now moved to Sugar Land after selling her house in the Bay Area. We enjoy spending lots of time together and getting into trouble. She has gotten me back into bicycling, and I am now a road warrior after having crashed into a bush (wouldn't you know?) and falling off my bike! My husband has also gotten into the act and bikes with us occasionally. My sister and I are planning to write a book together with the possible title of "Penis, Texas" (inspired by misreading a bumper sticker outside Barnes & Noble).
I have a deep and abiding love for the following things: Cats. Morrissey. The Smiths. Justice. Seinfeld. The San Francisco 49ers. Pasta. Laughing. Writing. Astronomy. The cello. British history. Kansas Jayhawks men's basketball. Snow. The ocean. The Democratic Party (despite its many problems and inconsistencies). Iconoclasm.
Bullwinkle and I are looking forward to planning meetups with Houston-area DUers once we get her stuff unpacked and her house organized.
