42. Pancreatic cancer is more closely tied to chronic pancreatitis than with Diabetes.

My father died of pancreatic cancer about four years ago, and he didn't have Diabetes. (Didn't have chronic pancreatitis, either, come to think of it...)

Now, if one undergoes a Whipple procedure for treatment of pancreatic cancer, then by definition, you will have Diabetes; since the functional portion of the organ will have been removed.
